Transcend Information RDF8 USB 3.0 multicard reader

Transcend Information has launched the RDF8 USB 3.0 multicard reader.

Using SuperSpeed USB 3.0, it supports the latest ultra-high speed card formats including SDHC UHS-1, SDXC UHS-1, UDMA6/UDMA7 CF and MSXC cards. Photographers and film makers can copy high-resolution uncompressed images or 1080p full HD video files from memory card to computer.

Equipped with the next-generation SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection interface, the device is claimed to deliver transfer speeds up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 card readers. When paired with an ultra-high speed SD card, files as large as 1 GB can be transferred in less than 12 seconds due to the increased bandwidth of USB 3.0.

Designed to unleash the full potential of next-generation memory cards, the reader comprises a total of four slots: CompactFlash compatible with UDMA CF cards; SDHC/SDXC slot that supports the new UHS-1 standard, smaller slot for M2/microSD cards; and a slot for MS PRO/MSXC/MS DUO cards.

The reader is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and accepts older versions of CF, SD and SDHC cards.

The device is supplied with a download of Transcend RecoveRx software.
