Trenton JXT6966 single board computer

The Trenton JXT6966 features two dual Xeon C5500 series processors and PCI Express Gen 2 functionality in a versatile single board computer.

The JXT6966 is said to be the first of its kind PICMG 1.3 system host board that automatically configures its PCI Express links to function with either server or graphics-class PICMG 1.3 backplanes.

The Xeon processor C5500 series provides quad-core, multi-threaded performance with increased thermal efficiencies.

The processors have integrated memory and I/O controllers, QuickPath interconnect technology, virtualisation and integral PCI Express Gen 1.1 and Gen 2.0 interface links.

The computer’s six memory sockets support the latest PC3-10600 DDR3 mini-DIMM technology and a theoretical maximum capacity of 192 GB.

With today’s 4 GB DDR3 mini-DIMMS a maximum capacity of 24 GB is possible, which will expand to a 48 GB capacity as 8 GB DDR3 mini-DIMMs become available.

The PCI Express links support PCIe x16 graphics cards as well as multiple x1, x4 or x8 PCIe cards.

The device provides an additional 16 lanes of PCI Express Gen 2.0 support when using a PEX10 expansion board and BPC7009 backplane.

Other features include: three 10/100/1000Base-T ethernet interfaces; eight USB 2.0 interfaces; an internal video interface driven by an 8 MB graphics processing unit; and six SATA II/300 interfaces with RAID support.
