The CHAMP-AV5 multiprocessing board brings the floating-point performance of the Intel Core i7 architecture to VME64x form factor standard. Utilising a pair of 2.53 GHz dual-core Core i7 processors, the CHAMP-AV5 delivers up to 81 GFLOPs of performance. The 17 GBps (peak) DDR3 memory sub-system supports applications with high memory utilisation and streaming data I/O.
The CHAMP-AV5 features PCIe connections between the processors, and the PMC/XMC sites. With 8 GB of flash and 4 GB of SDRAM, the AV5 handles applications that have demanding storage, data logging and sensor processing needs.
The AV5 is highly pin compatible with the 7447/7448-based CHAMP-AV4 allowing performance upgrades without changing chassis, backplane, or power supplies of existing qualified systems.
The AV5 is supported by a suite of software including support for VxWorks and Linux, Inter-processor communication and the Continuum Vector SSE-optimised signal processing library.
