Linear Technology has announced that four of its low-noise DC/DC µModule regulators have been verified by Xilinx to power multigigabit RocketIO SERDES (serialiser deserialiser) systems.
These converters are switchmode regulator systems incorporating special designs to deliver clean power at high efficiency for high-speed RocketIO interfaces. All models have passed Xilinx’s jitter tolerance, BERT and eye-scan tests.
The regulators are the LTM8023 (2 A), LTM4604 (4 A), LTM4606 (6 A), LTM4616 (dual output, 8 A) and operate from inputs ranging from 2.375 to 36 V. Their LGA (land grid array) packages vary in size from 9 x 11.25 x 2.8 mm to 15 x 15 x 2.8 mm, depending on their power capabilities and features.
