Vertical Mount Inductors

Gowanda Electronics has introduced a series of vertical surface mount toroidal inductors - SMRF 2007 - that optimises board space in RF applications.

This series uses similar technology to that developed for Gowanda Electronics' SMP 2007 series for power applications.

The SMRF series uses a housing, developed at Gowanda, that allows the inductor to be mounted vertically, taking up less board space.

The 2007 was designed in response to the market's need for components which occupy less board space - in concert with overall miniaturisation of the board - specifically in RF applications. This new series delivers good performance in a space saving, 'pick and place' vertical mount package that minimises external magnetic fields.

These inductors are used as signal filters in RF designs. Applications for the SMRF 2007 inductors include all RF signal circuitry in communications equipment, test and measurement equipment, medical diagnostic equipment and industrial process control equipment. Other applications include use in computers, computer peripherals, security systems, instrumentation, barcode and laboratory analysis equipment.

Specifications for products in the series include: inductance from 0.10 to 47 µH, current ratings from 575 to 3100 mA, and saturation current up to 4500 mA.
