Vishay Intertechnology IHLP-8787MZ-5A low-profile, high-current inductor in 8787 case size

Vishay Intertechnology has announced an IHLP low-profile, high-current inductor in the 8787 case size with rated current from 9.7 to 180 A. The IHLP-8787MZ-5A offers high efficiency with maximum DCR from 0.17 to 28.30 mΩ and a wide range of inductance values from 0.22 to 100 µH.

With a frequency range up to 1 MHz, the device serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM) and DC/DC converter applications. The IHLP-8787MZ-5A is designed for high-temperature automotive applications, including engine and transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, entertainment and navigation systems, noise suppression for motors, and power seats and mirrors.

The inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultralow levels, the device is specified for an operating temperature range of -55 to + 155°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration.
