Vishay has introduced a series of non-magnetic surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors for MRI diagnostic equipment.
The VJ series is available with both C0G and X7R/X5R dielectrics, each with a wide range of case sizes, voltage ratings and capacitance values.
The devices feature a wet build process and a noble metal electrode system that can be assembled in an SMT process using conductive epoxy bonding or IR reflow.
The devices will, typically, be used in filter circuits for MRI equipment, implantable medical devices, ferromagnetic-sensitive instrumentation, electronic test systems and high-end audio amplifiers.
The series features high voltage ranges from 6.3 to 3000 DC. They offer a wide capacitance range of 0.5 pF to 56 nF (with C0G dielectric) and 100 pF to 6.8 µF (with X7R/X5R dielectric) and an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C.
