Zarlink Semiconductor has launched its latest family of voice interface solutions, the VE890 series, optimised for the international digital subscriber line market.

The chipsets provide users with an integrated and modular approach that meets the needs of VoIP service providers worldwide. Whether connecting over the internet protocol or looping back to the existing public switched telephone network, the device conforms to worldwide standards for telephony interfaces (FXS and FXO).

Based on the VE880 low-power foreign exchange station architecture, the VE890 provides full worldwide programmability with low power consumption. It supports VeriVoiceT Auditor line testing.

The foreign exchange office functionality includes a direct access arrangement with common noise rejection and radio frequency immunity and an impedance-matching capability that eliminates echo to improve voice quality.
