Wavecom Q26 Extreme wireless CPU
The Wavecom Q26 Extreme 3G/HSPA module offers tri-band HSPA with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as a programmable Wireless CPU, said to be the first 3G/HSPA module with the ability to host and run an application on board the module.
The Wavecom Q26 Extreme supports antenna diversity and runs at peak data rates up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and up to 2 Mbps HSUPA. The built-in duo-core application processor provides dedicated application processing ARM9 power at up to 104 MHz, programmable in C and/or Lua.
Footprint compatibility of the Q26 Extreme with Q2686 or Q2687 Wireless CPU devices is claimed to ensure smooth product development as well as simplifying the process of upgrading.
The Q26 Extreme, together with Wavecom’s Open AT Software Suite, enables developers to natively execute applications on a platform created specifically for the machine-to-machine industry. M2M Studio is the latest integrated development environment that is said to make developing embedded cellular M2M applications easier and faster.
