Citrix Systems has announced its NetScaler MPX range of web application delivery systems.

These feature a parallel multicore system architecture that increases data centre capacity and delivers twice the web applications with the same infrastructure footprint.

It also delivers applications that demand the highest security and best end-user experience.

The system is claimed to be the first web application delivery controller to drive greater than 10 Gbps of real-world application performance while concurrently providing acceleration, traffic compression and integrated web application firewall security — all in an energy-smart appliance form factor.

It provides workflow virtualisation that senses changes in application demand and automatically invokes the necessary application and server resources to meet dynamic workloads.

This capability provides a fundamental building block of the new dynamic data centre by offering scalability and virtualisation capabilities to deliver both enterprise and internet-facing web applications.

Compared with previous generation appliances, the system requires nearly 50% less power and it automatically allocates server resources to meet shifting web application capacity requirements.
