NEC LCD Technologies has introduced two TFT LCD modules incorporating white LED backlights for industrial applications.
The modules consume less power and are thinner and lighter than comparable LCD modules incorporating cold-cathode fluorescent lamp backlights.
The 10.4" module with extended graphics array (XGA) resolution and the 8.9" module with wide super-video graphics array are durable for industrial use and design optimisation that yield a more than 40% reduction in module thickness, greater than 50% reduction in weight about 50% savings in power consumption compared with CCFL-based LCD equivalents.
Each model features a wide operating temperature range of -20 to +70 °C and a replaceable LED backlight unit.
