Contract awarded for FCVs with electronics systems

Wednesday, 03 October, 2007

Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) has been awarded a contract by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to provide customised forward command vehicles (FCV) with state-of-the-art communication and electronics systems.

The contract will have the company deliver the FCVs over a period of 20 months. ST Electronics won this contract against competition from international and local players.

The company will design, build, integrate, test, commission, maintain and support the FCVs that will be customised with comprehensive communication and electronics systems. The customised systems will provide the SPF with capabilities to enhance coordination of emergency response to critical situations.

To meet the SPF's stringent operational requirements, the FCV is designed to provide quick deployment, mobility, maintainability, reliability and expansion flexibility. Its ability to monitor and control incidents or complex operations makes it a suitable solution for mission planning and incident management.
