Technology partnership

Wednesday, 23 April, 2008

Kontron has formed a technology partnership with Astute Networks to develop platforms intended to support HLR/ HSS, IPTV and IMS network applications.

The companies will conduct interoperability and performance testing between the Kontron AT8030, a 10 GbE multi-core AdvancedTCA processor board featuring three Core Duo processors, and the Astute Caspian AdvancedTCA 10 Gb iSCSI high-capacity storage board.

Together, the two boards will enable telecom equipment manufacturers to design and offer their carrier, service provider and multi-system operator clients an economical method to deploy next-generation multimedia networks, while having a non-disruptive path to scale the size and performance of these systems over time.

The partnership will also include suitability testing for applications requiring high-performance edge compute/storage solutions, as well as joint sales and marketing for these products.
