Samsung develops 40-inch TFT-LCD

Samsung Electronics has completed the development of a 40-inch TFT-LCD.

The LCD has approximately 980,000 pixels (1,280 horizontally by 768 vertically) to provide a wide screen with XGA (eXtended Graphics Array) definition. The aspect ratio is 15:9 and the screen measures 40 inches diagonally. It is targeted for use in high-performance, wide-screen digital TVs.
