The Institute of Instrumentation, Control and Automation Australia (IICA) and Reed Exhibitions have signed a two-year agreement for ICEX, the exhibition section of IICA, to again be part of National Manufacturing Week for the next two years.

The PXI Systems Alliance (www.pxisa.org) has announced the 10th anniversary of the PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) specification, the PC-based modular I/O platform for test, measurement and control systems.


Distributor appointed

Trio Smartcal has a new role as the distributor for Agilent Technologies for Qld, NSW, ACT, Vic and Tas. Also covered will be defence accounts in SA. Trio Smartcal will sell Agilent’s ‘basic instrument’ range of general-purpose test and measurement products.


New distributors

Fluke Australia has announced three new distribution agreements. The newly formed Testing Equipment Solutions (TES) has been appointed the distributor of Fluke precision measurement instruments in Queensland, while NSW distribution will be handled by IPI. Triple Point Calibration (TPC) will service Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.

AC tester

Altronics has released an AC non-contact tester that detects live AC voltages from 100 to 600 V (50-60 Hz) and allows detection of live wires without contact. The tester illuminates red whenever AC is detected at a power point, sheathed or bare-ended cable. It is also equipped with an LED flashlight for lighting the way in rooftops or wall cavities.
